Let’s talk about providers in China. I am new to the mail-order peps/oils/etc. (only about a year, 8 orders, 4 vendors, totalling about $8,000), but here is my less than humble opinion:
The big price list, even if it flags some things as out of stock, is not accurate.
After you select items, expect to be told many are out of stock.
Price will be based on what is in stock after that.
Even after that, there is a high likelihood that your entire order will not be filled (i.e. an item you paid for will be out of stock and not shipped).
You will get no warning of this before the package arrives.
More often than not you will get less than your full order.
More often than not a shipment will take more than a month.
By the time you get all your paid-for stuff it may be 2-5 deliveries, and/or 2-5 months.
If this is unacceptable, then you should not use CN suppliers.
To be clear:
You will get some shipments in a week.
You will get some complete orders the first time (even if large/complicated).
None of the above list would be acceptable for Amazon or any other ecommerce website, but it is a fact you must accept if you want cheap grey goods from CN.
If they offer a refund on unshipped items or ship them again without a second shipping charge, then that’s the best you can expect.
If you expect more, then I believe you should lower your expectations. Personally, I have had amazing experiences with one CN supplier, and I appreciate the exceeded expectations. The others have fallen somewhere between that one and my minimum expectations (and I’m owed ~$330 from this one so they may potentially drop below expectations).
As for Lily. I think it’s prudent for people to suspend future orders until there is greater clarity, but I still expect to receive about $330 worth of products someday in the future.
