This is a first.
I use a well known domestic source on another board.
I placed an order on Black Friday and asked to pay by Zelle as usual. I was replied to with the total amount and

"$XXX.XX shipped with bitcoin
Our bitcoin address: bc1qsxdr60g6xy5p4cx3h8gv5hmxw25y3wfmcg69vr
Zelle: Cant access my zelle account so sorry for the inconveniences
"

I had to learn how to use Bitcoin fast. Learned it and sent the funds. The next day I get this:
"Our staff mistakenly doubled your order.
This above order has been sent to the carrier department. We are waiting for the tracking and I found out about the order. We will give you a discount if you can afford an additional 200 USD for the double order. I can take responsibility for the rest. so sorry for the inconveniences i may have caused you
BTC: bc1qsxdr60g6xy5p4cx3h8gv5hmxw25y3wfmcg69vr
"

RED FLAG with the asking for more, but being a good bro, I replied No problem and sent it.

Days go by and nothing. I reach out to him and nothing.

Finally I go on the board to PM him. He says he didn't get my emails after I ordered and was waiting for payment.
I was thinking what the fuck!

Looked at my emails and his replies came from the exact address he uses with the addition of the letter "s". I freaked out. I sent money to a fucking scammer twice.

I double checked that I sent the order to the correct address, and I did. However, the reply came from the scammer email which looked identical.

I discussed this with him and this was his response:
"Yeah that’s not my fault man it’s not my email it’s yours cause this has not happened to any other customers. Change your email and maybe I can work something out with you even though this is an unfortunate issue that has nothing to do with me"

Maybe my email was hacked and they replied that way to the message they read I sent.
Yes, I should have checked my email better, but this fucker was good. I can attach screen shots of my emails to show the Admin if they would like to see how I got fucked by this scammer.

I'm still being respectful and not using the sources name here since I am the one who should've checked better. Just be aware that scams are getting better.

I'll definitely be changing my email addy.

When I first started buying my gear online I fell for the damn telegram dealer. Paid once via bitcoin and then I got the "hey we didn't realize shipping tax would be more". "Can you send more to cover all expenses?". Like a dumbass I paid. I know how you feel man. I was more pissed at myself for being so damn dumb!

I'm taking steps to prevent it.

I have another source on that board I sent money to that's not responding, but I heard he has shit communication.

Changed email completely and the PW for my old email.

I'm still not sure who's end the hack was on so I'm only using sources here now and completely different passwords for logins to emails and forums.

Yeah I found that strange how the person mentioned being possibly "hacked". That's kind of a red flag excuse on their end. I guess I am at the point in my life where I trust no one

I said I thought they were hacked, which got turned around and said that it was my fault "cause this has not happened to any other customers", which it very well might be.
All I know is to look deeper at everything from now on.
In the end I should've been more aware, but just the same I'll be breaking it off.

Unfortunately, it happens to even the most careful, I got scammed on this site, the sponsor even had great reviews and people vouched for them saying they had placed several orders no problems etc. It sucks.

"It also pays to doublecheck the email address as scammers can be sneaky. Change the PW on your email often and NEVER click any links in emails you are not sure about!!!"

I always do. The email I sent subject Black Friday, to was V×××××c@protonmail. The reply with all the previous info is sent came with a subject RE: Black Friday, from V×××××cs@protonmail. I completely missed the fucking "s". Now I'm looking at another BTC I sent that I'm being told was the wrong address for another source. I'm really getting irritated with this and blaming myself. My PW was the same as it was for this site and PM... that's another clear fuck up for me. Now every PW is changed, complex, and completely different. Now I've asked the source to respond with their BTC address in PMs as well so there is no messing up.

I'll also be enabling MFA. All I can really do is laugh about it now.

It's really a terrible experience. Hackers' phishing techniques are so sophisticated. It's not your fault.

Be sure to set up 2FA on your emails if you haven't. Should set it up on everything that you can.

Hackers are getting sneakier all the time.
I did after I had posted. Now I'll know for sure if someone is logging in to an account. Wish I had done it originally.

I recommend you communicate in telegram with the store manager! We communicate with all our clients in telegram. It is much faster and safer! Be more attentive and then this will not happen again!

I placed a new order last week with another source who said they never received my BTC payment. This time not only did I use my new secured email, I made them send me their BTC addy in the session messenger app they use. It matched, so I sent the funds. No source should get upset if you ask for a second way to confirm when sending btc. That was an issue I had with one source that always seemed to have an attitude, even when the mistake was his own. If someone can't bother through a second means, then I can't bother with them (unless they have a cart where you pay right then).

I've experienced that with ZPHUS. It does make things a lot easier and a better piece of mind.
