This natural substance works for men. Here's what it does for women.
Ask women to imagine the perfect health supplement, a pill that could safely deliver everything they want. So, what would that pill do?Well, the pill they imagine would probably make them look youthful or help them easily lose fat without dieting. Maybe both. While there are natural supplements that help women fight aging and excess body fat, a magic Capsule of Instant Youth & Leanness doesn't exist yet.
So let's change the question parameters a little. How do most women want to feel? Most would come up with a list like this:
- I want to be less stressed (lower cortisol).
- I want to be in a good mood.
- I want to have more energy.
- I want to have a satisfying sex life.
- I want to improve my overall sense of well-being.
- I want better workouts, less body fat, and more lean muscle.
What Longjack Does for Women
When you think of Longjack, you probably think of a men's supplement that helps them boost testosterone, fertility, and bedroom performance. But researchers have also tested it out on women. It works, but often via different mechanisms of action. One study involved stressed-out women (and some men). Subjects were given 200mg per day of Malaysian Longjack for four weeks. Their mood states and hormones were tested before and after.
After a month, Longjack users experienced less stress (tension, anger, etc.) due to reduced cortisol exposure (-16%). Their testosterone status increased (+37%). The researchers called this an "overall improved cortisol-to-testosterone ratio" and concluded that Longjack had "...significant potential for restoring hormone balance and improving psychological mood state."
Longjack's other benefits for women are related to this hormone-balancing effect: more available testosterone, less cortisol.
Sexually, a boost in testosterone naturally leads to a stronger libido. Historically, Longjack has been used as an aphrodisiac. In women, users claim the herb increases "sensitivity in erogenous zones." Science hasn't conducted a targeted study about that yet, but it could be caused, again, by the T boost.
Placebo-controlled studies also show that Longjack leads to improved strength, endurance, and overall performance in women who hit the gym.

How Does Longjack Do That?
The quassinoids (biologically active compounds) in the herb cause a release and balancing of luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone. But the most potent effect for women might be Longjack's effects on SHBG or sex hormone binding globulin.SHBG plays a crucial role in regulating testosterone and estrogen in women and men. This protein binds to those hormones in the bloodstream, making them biologically inactive. Longjack boosts free testosterone levels by reducing SHBG levels.
As women age, estrogen levels drop, leading to a rise in SHBG levels. Also, because of genetics, some women produce more SHBG than others. Their T levels may be fine, but much of it is held hostage by SHBG.
In studies, 40-plus women get the most benefits from Longjack, but younger women can suffer from low-T and high-SHBG, too, and the herb works in the same way for them.
What to Take
Studies have used 100 to 400 mg of Longjack for 4 to 12 weeks. Typically, smaller doses are used for long periods; high dosages are used for shorter periods. (Also, the high 400 mg studies are reserved for senior women.) For women who want to experiment with Longjack, it's admittedly just that: an experiment. Most studies focus on men, but hopefully, we'll see more soon. The important thing to remember is to use the LJ100 form of Longjack, developed and patented by the Government of Malaysia and MIT. It's the purest, most potent, and most bioavailable form.
