This is Alice, my WhatsApp ID has been stolen and the cheater changed my profile picture.
Don't trust any words sent from my WhatsApp until it goes back. I will post it to inform on forum when the ID is back.

My best bet would be to make a new Whatsapp ID and let everyone know the new one and report the stolen ID to WhatsApp support for them to delete it. In addition assume your email is also compromised as the attacker may try getting into that too, so change your email as well.

EDIT: For now remove your WhatsApp ID from your sig as that the bad one right?

Everyone who interacted with Alice via WhatsApp ought to clear their convos on that ID and block it to keep from getting any messages from the impostor. Also watch your email as the impostor will most likely email those who had convos with Alice...delete them.

PS: @Alice069 you should delete convos once orders have been processed so as not to keep any personal info exposed any longer than necessary in the event an ID is compromised. It's urged to use a secure email like Proton or Tuta to communicate payment and order info rather than using a chat app like WhatApp and using the app just for taking questions.

It figures! First emails now this! We have to protect ourselves and always double check everything on the way we communicate. We need to check with the sponsor through direct messages on the forums and get the right contact information every time!

It's the sponsors' duty to inform members/customers of the breach so that action can be taken. Posting alerts or at least notifying admins/mods of the forums they sponsor on is also another good thing. Protecting the community is paramount in this game as scammers/hackers can prey on them to steal info or even their crypto!

Sponsors ought to ensure their contact info is accurate as it's the authoritative source of information members need in order to reach out to them. Attackers use various forms of the email addy to catch unsuspecting people not to mention fake sites and whatsapp chat IDs. We all have to be vigilant. Stay safe out there!
