I understand the benefits of a remailer for their traditional purpose, but people talk about using a remailer on here as if it reduces risk of some kind and I don't understand what exactly the benefit is.
Could someone educate me?

The risk of a seizure is less.
 
Because the seizure rate between supplier and remailer is lower than between supplier and customer? That seems odd if they're all coming through the same ports, customs, etc. I believe you of course, I just cannot imagine why that would be the case.

Not all ports are as stringent as other ports. I live in the Midwest and most international parcels go through Chicago where seizures are more frequent. With remailer adress international parcels go through New York or Ne Jersey where the rate is much less.
