So this just came up, and I figured I’d share for other noobs in the forum. I downloaded Cash App as a payment platform, only to find that some folks accept only Bitcoin. Now, the whole idea behind this—at least for many of us—is to keep things somewhat private, right? I’m guessing if you’re here, you get what I mean.
But here’s the kicker: in order to send Bitcoin, Cash App requires you to submit photos of your driver's license, your address, phone number, Social Security number, and probably your blood type and the length of your damn Johnson while you're at it. Total BS. How the hell is that supposed to be private? It’s not—and that’s where I draw the line. If we can’t make transactions using good old-fashioned digital cash equivalents without handing over our life story, what’s the point? As you can probably tell, yeah... I’m a little chapped over this bitcoin BS!

Unfortunately all the platforms are beginning to this. Supposedly it's going to be a way to restrict illegal acts.

What you’re saying is true—but it’s still possible to send digital cash without broadcasting your identity to the world. I don’t get the obsession with Bitcoin either. Especialy when it is defeating the entire purpose of what we are doing.

Dude.....I know and I completely agree with you. I don't really know who is imposing all these new now regulations.

Yes,I just had to buy bitcoin and had to submit, drivers license, both front and back then 2 different photos just to buy it.
The person getting bitcoin can’t see the info but cash app does.
Also now wester union is banning everyone so that’s not an option.
It is ridiculous all the info you have to give just to send bitcoin or western union.
Sort of defeats the privacy part.

Why is it that these sponsors are demanding payment in Bitcoin? Why not something simple like standard Cash App or Venmo money transfer? Especially when Bitcoin is fully traceable. And let’s not ignore the risk—when a package shows up on your doorstep and something’s gone horribly wrong, you can’t exactly claim ignorance if your Bitcoin transaction includes your driver's license and all your personal info. So what's the real reason for insisting on crypto?

Is this your first ever platform for Bitcoin?

Yea...WU is ridiculous anymore. Have not use them in years. They wany a kidney to send $20bux.

I've never used Bitcoin — never needed to. Honestly, the whole crypto platform seems downright stupid at this point. Back in the early days, it made sense if you wanted to exchange money for goods or services in a way that was hard to trace. But that era is long gone. Nowadays, even a street cop can trace crypto transactions without breaking a sweat.

It's a flawed system. You're better off using a cash app to transfer electronic dollars. No need to hand over your life story — just a debit card, credit card, or bank account. Better yet, buy a prepaid card with cash, plug it into the app, and send money that way. No ID required, practically untraceable, and best of all — no stupid fees.

So again, I keep asking the same question: why are these sponsors pushing Bitcoin? Why not just use a cash app or a digital wallet? It's safer, more secure, easier to use, and doesn’t nickel-and-dime you with transaction fees. Funny how nobody seems to want to answer that.

There gonna possibly see ur face but u can get special white cards wink lol that u could put funds on then buy crypto on VPN possibly

I think if they receive crypto matbe it's safer but in my eyes it's a huge investment why buy bitcoin when ur business could make it ha

Totally agree. I'm old school and don't get the whole bitcoin bs. I'm sure it's easy to a lot of people, but I refuse to go that route. My go to source is like using PayPal. I pay in 4 installments where payment comes out every 2 weeks. That's what I prefer, so that's what I use.

I'm old school as well. I miss W/U and CIM. Bitcoin is easy to hide but your credentials are the cost these days. It's not like that in other countries where your BTC payment is going.

Anyone remember GreenDot? It was great. You'd buy a card for say $500 and pay a $4.99 service fee. You'd send the number on the card to your "friend" and bang... instant cash and untraceable.

Yes remember that trick but now GreenDot cracked down on this as well as now to activate them need to verify ID and such.
