Hello everyone.

There’s a recent case where a man’s prescription for medicinal cannabis from a private clinic reportedly led to severe dependency and a tragic outcome. His family claim the clinic’s limited assessment and lack of ongoing support contributed to his decline.

In particular, the involvement of Curaleaf Clinic has raised questions about how responsibly private providers prescribe high-potency treatments, especially when mental health risks are involved. Should there be mandatory follow-ups, stricter oversight, or tighter regulations for private providers?

How can the healthcare system ensure patient safety without restricting access to potentially beneficial treatments?

In my personal opinion there has to be a level of direct personal accountability. We, as a society, are moving towards a lack of accountability and being able to point fingers at others for our short comings.

The case you state I have no idea or understand about. But what I do have is direct experience with being an actual grower and chronic use of cannabis. When you wake up in the morning and get your coffee going and then spending the rest of the day attending to the different crops, it's almost impossible to not become chronic. This is 24/7.

It took a little time, but on my own, I have no interest in being high on cannabis. I know everyone is different, but there is a level of accountability for your own self and your own behavior and habits. It's been over 10 years now and 16 years since I was a very active grower, but I now have no association with cannabis and it's use.

My personal view is society and from social support, people have lost their self-control and fortitude to take accountability and take care of themselves.

My personal view is that society and social support have made people lose some self-control and fortitude, and using resources like https://bearsdencannabis.com/ can help them take better care of themselves.

I’d push for proper follow-ups with any prescription like this. If a clinic isn’t checking in or adjusting doses, I switch fast. Good support makes a huge difference.
