Things you can't stand in the gym?!

People taking weights off the machine im using… especially when im mid set, even though the next machine or rack has nobody using it!!! They’re just too fuckin lazy to walk the extra 5 feet

That is aggravating as fuck.

1. The person standing next to the bench not actively using the bench as anything but a table for their drink.
2. The person who uses a machine and doesn't unrack the weight.

How bout the guys that grab a set of dumbbells and proceed to do their set right there directly in front of the rack as if they’re the only one in the building

People that put their plates on backwards, really bothers me for some reason lol, but that's just a me thing

I totally do this, lmao. Not sure why, but everyone I lifted with when I started out in the early 90's did it. They would laugh at people that put plates on normally. I guess it stuck with me

People putting the dumbells back in the wrong spot on the rack. Lazy and disrespectful.
Put weights back
This is a big one for me, really pisses me off when people don't but weights or dumbbells back where they belong. Or not breaking down a bar or machine with the plates they were using. They just leave it for the next person to put it back for them. If you had the energy and strength to perform your sets, you have enough in reserve to break down the equipment.

Next major pet peeve is people walking in front of you during a heavy set of something, i.e.: squats, when you need to stay focused.

Basic gym etiquette/respect is out the window.

100% agree with this, gym culture has changed so drastically since when I first got started. I started out in the early 80's, there was an unspoken etiquette you quickly learned or else you were told get your shit together or get out. I had experienced guys take me under their wing and show me everything about training and being in a real gym. I grew up around Pittsburgh, PA, I frequented gyms that were the real deal, one in particular was in the basement of a V.F.W. and this place put out more world champions and record holders in multiple disciplines than just about any other gym around the country at the time. You got your shit together quickly and then you built respect from everyone and before you knew it everyone in that gym was your training partner helping you out with spots and encouragement. You literally threw iron around in those days, clanging plates was the music playing behind the beat-up speakers that played the current day hits. It was a fraternity type of environment; you were expected to show up and everyone showed up religiously to train.

Myself when I allow myself to be distracted that takes away from my workout.

Absolutely, 100% gospel. Like we all had the same story back then.

I was doing stiff legged DLs years back with 315. Some assclown (skinny kid on his phone) WALKS THRU the power rack I'm working in, just inches away from me "Oh, my bad."
I THREW the barbell down and called him a mother fu**er, asking him if he was mentally retarded, or if he was an idiot, something like that. I wanted to bust his femurs with that barbell. Organon sust FTW. LOL

EDIT: I should add, that seriously, I didn't REALLY want to bust the kid up, but, I dumped the lift because my concentration was GONE. Even during the rep, I'm thinking, "OK, no CONSCIOUS human being would walk into a power rack with someone working in it." and at that point, I almost WORRY about hurting them, because they're not "with it".

My last gym started out with a lot of incredibly sexy women in yoga pants and ended up with 200Lb fugly bull dukes making out and grabbing each other’s fat lard asses while sitting on the machines. It made my stomach turn. Needed to say I quit that place soon after seeing that.
