I know a lot of people like having a workout buddy, and I can definitely see the appeal. It's nice to have someone there to push you through those last few reps when it really counts.

Personally, I prefer working out alone with my headphones on. It can be more challenging to push yourself past that point where the burn starts getting uncomfortable, but I enjoy it.

Maybe it's just me, but some workouts hit differently. I actually love the feeling from certain exercises, while others—like triceps and calves—seem to have a completely different kind of pain.

What do you guys prefer? Do you like training with a partner or flying solo?

I started training solo about 7yrs ago when I bought a garage gym. I like being by myself. It’s just me against me. Do I lose out on some potentially higher PRs or a few final assisted reps, yeah but I'm ok with that. I make it work for myself and my goals.

All great points I think that's why I love the smith machine. I will say though those assist for your last reps with a partner is definitely a different feeling

Yeah man I also have a home gym I bought during Covid. Since then I role solo. It’s fine by me and I get it done. It’s awesome to be able to just walk in the garage and workout whenever I want.
